NOTE: For better experience, please use Google Chrome web browser when accessing and using the BSKA online tool.


 

1. From the 'Select student' screen: Click the 'Assessment' button for the student and assessment (BSKA literacy or numeracy) you want to administer.

 

 

 

2. Select ‘Start’ to open the first question of the assessment.

  • The assessment section title (for example,  WRITING - Creating texts and Spelling) and question numbers (for example, Q1, E1) are displayed on the top part of the screen
  • The name of student is on the top-left side of the screen
  • Instructions and questions are on the left side of the screen
  • Responses and comment are on the right side of the screen
  • The Next and Previous buttons are on the bottom of the screen
     


3. Read the instructions and questions. Instructions for the teacher are listed in the dot points, while instructions/questions to be asked by the teacher to the student are in bold text. 

 

4. Select the student's response from the list of responses. You can also type in any additional information in the Comment field.

 


5. Click the Next button to proceed to the next question. The response from the previous question will automatically be saved.

 

6. You can pause the assessment by clicking the Exit button. This will open the home screen where you will see the student's assessment completion status is now 'In progress’ with the quantity of questions completed listed in the yellow circle.


 

7. To review the assessment progress, click the Go to button on the top-right side of the assessment screen. This will open the 'Review assessment progress' pop-up page, displaying the completion status of the questions. You can click the question button to go to that specific question.

  • Incomplete question = light grey square, with the question number text, for example, Q10
  • Completed question = blue square, with the question number text, for example, Q1
  • Example question (does not require a response) = navy-blue square, with the example number, for example, E1

  • Note: You can use the Post-assessment entry button to quickly access the Post- assessment entry screen

     

 

8. Once all questions have been completed, you may lodge the assessment. Click the Lodge button, then a pop-up notification will appear. Confirm all details are correct and select the Lodge assessment button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

9. Once assessment lodgement is successful, you will be navigated back to the 'Select student' screen. The student's assessment completion status is now 'Lodged', a navy-blue circle with a lock will be displayed next to the assessment button.
