We are pleased to share the following new features and enhancements, starting from Week 1, Term 3 2026:
Year 1 Phonics Screening Check
- The Year 1 Phonics Screening Check is a short assessment that tells teachers how students are progressing in phonics. It begins in Week 4 and runs until Week 6 of Term 3 (10-28 August 2026).
- There is a new list of questions available for the 2026 assessment.
- The Class Assessment Summary has been enhanced this year. The first tab has new filters, word complexity, GPC type, word type, performance category. Students with the lowest total score appear at the top of the list, and highest at the bottom.
- In the second tab answers where the 'word is incorrect, all phonemes are correct' are marked green with a dot.
- Please note to when withdrawing a student, they may be withdrawn if their teacher, through collaboration and consultation with the student, families and carers, school leadership team and the student's support network to determine withdrawal is the appropriate decision. For students with dual enrolments, census (home) schools should also collaborate with the non-census schools.
