Year 1 Phonics Screening Check NSW state data is now available
- The Year 1 Phonics Screening Check 2025 NSW state data is now available.
- The data shows the average number of items correct for your school and the state and percentage meeting expected score (28 or higher) for your school and the state. This is determined by comparing the Total participants to the Count of participants meeting the expected score. Students are considered to have met the expected academic achievement score if they correctly answered 28 or more items.
- To view the results, please go to the Student Assessment Analysis app and select the following fields:
- Assessment: Year 1 Phonics Screening Check
- Analysis: School Trends
- Click Search
Best Start Kindergarten Assessment
- The Best Start Kindergarten is a literacy and numeracy assessment conducted for all Kindergarten students in the first five weeks of school (2 Feb to 6 March 2026).

PLAN2 - EAL/D Phase Updated
- The PLAN2 - EAL/D phase has been updated. BSL (Beginning some print in first language) and BBL (Beginning limited literacy background in first language) have been replaced with one phase B (Beginning).
