In 2023, PLAN2 has had a major upgrade in alignment with the National Literacy and Numeracy Learning Progressions (NLNLP) version 3 indicators as well as the new K-2 English and Mathematics syllabuses.
The new PLAN2 2023 includes:
- Version 3 of the National Literacy and Numeracy Learning Progressions
- Mathematics and English outcomes and content points for the new syllabuses
- English and Mathematics syllabuses mapped to version 3 of the learning progressions
- New PLAN2 observation status scale
- Enhancements to existing features
Upcoming enhancements
Two features from the previous version of PLAN2 are currently in development for PLAN2 (2023) and will be made available later this year, this includes:
- Observations across learning areas (Term 2 2023)
Version 3 of the National Literacy and Numeracy Learning Progressions
NSW teachers will be able to view and use the National Literacy and Numeracy Learning Progressions (NLNLP) version 3 indicators in PLAN2.

Mathematics and English outcomes and content points for the new syllabuses
With the implementation of the new English and Mathematics syllabuses in schools PLAN2 now supports the use of English and Mathematics K-2 syllabuses across various features and the addition of syllabus content points to Areas of focus.

English and Mathematics syllabuses mapped to version 3 of the learning progressions
The observations made by teachers or assessments, existing against version 2 (V2) progression indicators in PLAN2, will be migrated against V3 progression indicators and converted to the new observation status.

New PLAN2 observation status scale
The student observations which existed against version 2 of the progressions have been converted to the new observation scale and migrated against version 3 of the progressions.

Select Syllabus outcomes to generate analysis with mapped sub-element levels. (Replaces previous PLAN2 ‘Class outcomes by syllabus’ analysis feature).
