Overview
Observation source selection further supports teachers in viewing, filtering and analysing observations from Teacher observations or observations from an assessment.
Select the Observation source selector to specify which observation source will be generated for viewing.
The Observation source filter is currently available in specific PLAN2 tools including:
- Class observations
- Cohort snapshot analysis
- Class observations analysis

- Select the Observation source selector from the selection panel
- Select 'Last recorded observation (teacher or assessment)'
- Select Close
- Ensure you have all required side selection panel fields selected.
- Select the 'Generate' button within the side selection panel.

- Select the Observation source selector from the selection panel
- Select 'Last recorded by a teacher'
- Select Close
- Ensure you have all required side selection panel fields selected.
- Select the 'Generate' button within the side selection panel.
Use Observation sources to generate observations from a specific DoE assessment
- Select the Observation source selector from the selection panel
- Select an assessment E.g. Check-in assessment Year 3 Numeracy (CY3N)
- Select Close
- Ensure you have all required side selection panel fields selected.
- Select the 'Generate' button within the side selection panel.
Use Observation sources to generate observations from selected class or group
- Select a single class or group
- Select the Observation source selector from the selection panel
- Select 'Recorded in this class or group'
- Select Close
- Ensure you have all required side selection panel fields selected.
- Select the 'Generate' button within the side selection panel.
Use Observation sources to generate observations 'recorded by me'
- Select the Observation source selector from the selection panel
- Select 'Last recorded by me'
- Select Close
- Ensure you have all required side selection panel fields selected.
- Select the 'Generate' button within the side selection panel.
Use Observation sources to generate observations recorded from a specific group type or subject
- Select the Observation source selector from the selection panel
- Select a group type / subject e.g.'Mathematics'
- Select Close
- Ensure you have all required side selection panel fields selected.
- Select the 'Generate' button within the side selection panel.
