How to create an Area of focus template
- Select the PLAN2 tile on the ALAN homepage.
- Select the 'Plan' tile
- Select the 'Areas of focus template library' tile
- Select 'Add to template library' button
Step 1: Select syllabus outcomes – What are your focus syllabus outcomes?
- Select Stage(s)
- Select Key learning area(s)
- Select one or multiple Syllabus outcome(s)
- Select ‘View content’ to view and select one or multiple Syllabus content point(s).
- Click ‘Next’ to proceed to the next step.
Note: You may skip this step if you do not wish to use syllabus outcomes as guide when selecting your progression indicators.
Step 2: Select progression indicators - Which V3 indicators will support the learning focus?
Browse for indicators via the ‘Show indicators’ filters.
- Select from ‘Literacy', 'Numeracy', 'Assessment’ indicators or indicators mapped to your 'Syllabus’ outcomes or content points.
- Literacy progression indicators
- Numeracy progression indicators
- Assessment indicators (Mapped to Learning Progression v3 indicators)
- Syllabus Outcomes / Focus area indicators (Mapped to Learning Progression v3 sub-element levels)
- Syllabus content points (Mapped to Learning Progression v3 sub-element levels)
- Select the tags beside your outcomes and content points to view and add indicators from sub-element levels mapped to your outcomes and/or content points.
- Select one or more Progression indicator(s) from the list. Your selected indicator(s) will be added to your Focus cart.
Step 3: Review and save
- In the ‘Review and save’ screen you will see the list of syllabus outcome(s) and progression indicator(s) that you selected in the previous steps.
- Type in the name of your area of focus template in the Template name field.
- Type in a description for your area of focus template in the Description field.
- Click ‘Save’ to save your new area of focus template.
- Once done, you will see your newly created Areas of focus template in the ‘Areas of focus template library’.
