This function to add or edit individual student records in ALAN applications is available to CSNSW and AIS schools only. You must be an ALAN_ADMIN user to access this function.

Add new student to the staging facility

  1. Log in to the ALAN portal. We recommend using Chrome web browser when accessing the ALAN Administration.
  2. In the ALAN homepage, click the Administration tile. This will open the ALAN Administration page.
  3. In the ALAN Administration page, click the ‘Edit students in staging’ button. This will open the ‘Edit students in staging’ page.

  4.  In the ‘Edit students in staging’ page, click the ‘Add new student’ button.

  5. Enter the student details in the form then click the ‘Save changes’ button to save your changes.

  6. You can view the newly added student record in the 'Edit students in staging' page.

Edit a student record in the staging facility


  1. In the ALAN homepage, click the 'Administration' tile. This will open the ALAN Administration page
  2. In the ALAN Administration page, click the ‘Edit students in staging’ button. This will open the ‘Edit students in staging' page.




  3. The 'Edit students in staging' page will display a list of your student records in the staging facility. Student record types are:

    a. "New students": student you have added recently via the 'upload students' facility
    b. "Existing students": students who have been rolled over from their previous year level to their future year level

    NOTE: Students who have been rolled over to their next year level will have blank roll class ('No roll class'). You can change the students' roll classes by editing the student details.

    c. "Left / No longer enrolled in this school": students who have been marked as no longer enrolled in your school, and will removed from your student list; e.g. student has transferred school or student has been rolled over from Year 6 to Year 7.



  4. You can edit a student's record by clicking on the student's name on the list. Click the 'Save changes' button to save your changes.


Remove student record (delete record of student no longer enrolled)

To remove a student record from your school, you can delete the student record or mark the student record as ‘no longer enrolled’. Follow the steps below. 

  1. In ALAN homepage, click the Administration tile. This will open the ALAN Administration page.
  2. In the ALAN Administration page, click the ‘Edit students in staging’ button. This will open the ‘Edit students in staging’ page.
  3. To delete a 'New' record:
    1. In the 'Edit students in staging' page, click on a student name

       
    2. In the student details page, click the ‘Delete record’ button.


  4. To delete an 'Existing' record:
    1. In the ‘Edit students in staging’ page, click on a student name

       
    2. In the student details page, click the ‘Student no longer enrolled in this school’ button
