This guide assists teachers who are working with families to gather information about their child’s skills, strengths and areas of need. This will support teachers in the creation of differentiated teaching and learning programs.  This guide helps teachers identify a student’s skills, strengths and areas of need across the same 13 sub-elements covered in the Best Start Kindergarten Assessment.

This guide can be used in instances where the assessment does not provide sufficient or accurate information about a students achievement and ability on entry to Kindergarten.

The supplementary guide is available for download.

Please note:  For Best Start Kindergarten 2020, all schools will continue to use the 2019 version.
