The Best Start Kindergarten Assessment can be administered at any time within a student's first five weeks of school.
However, if a student has been absent for the first five weeks of the school year, teachers should mark the student as absent and lodge the assessment temporarily following the steps below. The assessment can be accessed and administered upon the student's return. Submit a support ticket through the help desk requesting access to the student assessment.
1. Select post-assessment entry from the select student landing page.
2. Select Mark this student as absent/ withdrawn in the top right-hand corner.
3. Select Absent from the dropdown menu.
NOTE: Upon selecting Absent, all questions will populate with the response ‘not given’ and the reason ‘absent'.
4. Lodge the assessment by selecting the Lodge assessment button that appears at the bottom of the screen.
