Withdrawing students

Parents and carers need to complete the 'Request to withdraw' form on page 6 of BSKA administration guide (in your BSKA folder). Schools need to retain a copy of the signed form with the student record card and record the withdrawal in the Best Start Kindergarten Assessment online tool in ALAN.

When you mark the Best Start Kindergarten Assessment (BSKA) as withdrawn upon parental consent, you confirm that you have obtained signed parental consent to withdraw the student from the assessment.

To mark a student as withdrawn upon parental consent, follow the instructions below.

1. Select Post-assessment entry from the select student landing page.

2. Select Withdraw in the top right-hand corner.

Note: You can also withdraw a student by selecting the Assessment button, then Withdraw student.

3. Select Withdrawn upon parental consent from the dropdown menu, then click Withdraw. A pop-up window will open, select Confirm withdrawal, OK.

Note: Upon selecting Withdrawn upon parental consent, all questions will populate with the response ‘not given’ and the reason ‘Withdrawn upon parental consent’.

4. Lodge the assessment by selecting the Lodge button that appears at the bottom-right of the screen.
