Overview

  • The Interview for student reasoning – Number and place value (IfSR-NP) assessment is available to NSW DoE schools only, via the ALAN suite of online tools. 
  • In order to access ALAN online tools, your school must be activated in ALAN and you must have an ALAN user role granted via AMU/SMU. 
  • The IfSR-NP assessment will be available to schools on-demand, rather than during a set assessment window. This means that teachers will be able to access the diagnostic assessment at any time during the year.

How to access the online tool

  1. Log in to the ALAN homepage.
  2. In the ALAN homepage, select the IfSR-NP app. The IFSR-NP online tool will open.


  3. The landing page displays information about the assessment and links to additional resources.
